LGC 3.3.17 – Java embedded and Windows 64bit version

A new release, this one, that is all about the installer. Finally I’ve managed to create a LGC package which contains the software AND a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). No more Java installation needed, in the user systems, no more problems with incompatibility and installation issues, I hope.

Second major change is the release of the Windows version of the installer compiled for 64bit systems. It does not impact on performances of LGC, and relates only to the installer and the JRE embedded.

As always, LGC could be downloaded from this page (inside the official italian website) and it’s donationware. So if you feel that LGC could be useful to you, you could pay me a beer or send me a Halloween/Christmas present via my Amazon wishlist.

Enjoy!

Looking at this blog it could seem that LibroGameCreator development has stopped one year ago. The truth is that the program has evolved, new features has been added and bags of bugs have been thrown away. But everytime I released a new version I’ve postponed the post on the english blog, slowly forget about it.

Today I’ve tryed to recollect all those modifications, and list them below. As always you can download the program here.

3.1.25 released – gamebook tasks exportable list, autosave, a new shortcut and more!

sorcery-the-crown-of-kingsI’m still working on the “lite” version of the editor manual, and I’m very late with this task, but in my defence I’m working on a walkthrough for the The Crown of Kings gamebook, for italian readers, and at the same time I’m writing a gamebook of my own, a scifi/horror story.

Writing a gamebook, with LGC of course, is fun and painful at the same time. There is a lot of work to do, a lot of gimmicks to invent, monsters to design and all of this have to be well balanced or the player will give up too soon.

3.1.10 released, with the new “game mapper”

Day two of the new year and we are here again, with a new Libro Game Creator’s release and some great news. I’ve played with the idea of a tool to link gamebook’s paragraphs and a map of the game, very useful to the writer, to let him have a visual approach to the story. Well, in this version you’ll find a very very simple implementation of that idea. Now you can open the “game mapper”, choose a background image (the map) and put on it a button for every chapter you’ve in your book. Clicking the button on the map, LGC will load thechapter. Clicking the “show on map” button in LGC, will open the game mapper and center the map on the selectedchapter (if thechapter has been already linked to the map). Other news are about lot of plugins bugfixing and a shortcut to open a gamechapter, just press CTRL+G. The background image in the screenshot below, has been created with hexographer, a very useful Java tool. game book map editor This is the complete changelog of the new version, enjoy! * new: map editor * new: go to shortcut (CTRL+G) * modified toolbar’s icons * fixed import from txt plugin * fixed export to ebook plugin * fixed export to graphviz plugin * fixed make-desktop-link script’s name * fixed a bug in language selection
